• When a contact is deleted in Outlook and after the CRM synchronisation has completed - the CRMID of the contact is retained in the IDMAPPINGTable with a filed specifically indicating that it is deleted - this entry then stays there even if you tick / untick contact synhcronisation. I guess the logic is that if the user deleted the contact they meant to do it!! (I wish the world was as straifght forward as that!!).
I have found a way to re-instate the contact but it is very nasty as it requires the relevant row(s) to be deleted in the IDMappingTable (in Users\<userid>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MSCRM\Client\OutlookSyncCache.sdf) - then you also have to make a change to the record in CRM and the record then comes down into the user's Outook. Not easy as you need to find some way of accessing the SQL Compact Database table
